Plus Advantage

Shorthorns are well known for their superb maternal qualities - calving ease, milking ability and fertility, as well as docility. In my opinion, the value of adding Shorthorn genetics to your herd can be astronomical in increasing those traits mentioned above, but also, added vigor in your newborn calves! In all the breeds we've utilized over the years, the Shorthorn calves are the quickest to get up and go with little to no help, it's always a race for me to get them weighed at birth before they nurse!

I choose to utilize the Shorthorn Plus Advantage in my program with the goal to help further infuse the breed with more strength in existing traits. Some of the traits I intend to focus on are carcass quality, marbling, increased muscle shape and expression, and overall easy-keeping and do-ability.
